Deconstruction of Main Character in the Kate Dicamillo’s Novel “Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane”

There is binary opposition in the characteristic of Edward Tulane that has found in the novel, sometimes he is found as selfish,arrogant and apathetic but sometimes he becomesmerciful, love other people and humble it depends on how people treat him, if people treat him as like as his friend or his family, Edward will show the good characteristic but if people treat him only as inanimate object, Edward will become bad.So, people cannot judge him only as bad (antagonist) and good (protagonist), Edward Tulane as main character in the novel Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane is just like other human in the real world that has the nature of good and bad. Deconstruction analysis has merge the limits created between the protagonist- antagonist and side figures. Every character is a character, no consideration as protagonist or antagonist character anymore. The protagonist it also has a negative side, and so do the antagonist character, it also has a positive side which is could be consider a role model
